A psychological unraveling. Inspired by classic film noir and early 20th century surrealism. Blending experimental animation, practical cinematography, and a few broken mirrors along the way.

I was responsible for the art direction, animation, compositing, and development of additional design frames, building on original designs by Arik Weiss. One of the biggest challenges was honoring the 1930s aesthetic without overdesigning or overanimating it through a contemporary motion graphics lens. The most complex element was developing the web/glass transition system and defining how it would move and evolve throughout the sequence, a challenge Daniel Duda solved brilliantly. Rather than relying on the more obvious visual of shattered glass drifting through space, the “webs” were conceived as fractured mirror edges: interconnected planes that contain and reflect fragments of a scene while remaining part of a larger, unified whole rather than a collection of isolated shards.
