The lotus holds a special place in Eastern religions, with its roots in the mud and its floating, continuously blooming flower, it is a apt metaphor for the perseverance of the human spirit. In this concept, we use the delicate, falling petals of the lotus to symbolize the fracturing of the family and the characters’ struggles as they make their way through a war-torn world, haunted by the specter of the Picture Bride.
